| Jim's radio journey began in 1978 right before his sophomore year at Pickens High School for WYYZ-AM in Jasper, GA. He started out doing Saturday afternoons then added Sunday mornings and was soon doing the night shift after school. Along the way he's also worked for WRCD-AM in Dalton, WEBS-AM in Calhoun and did two stints at the legendary WCHK AM& FM in Canton, GA. Then came a move to Nashville, TN where he joined forces with Diane Richey Promotions and helped launch the careers of many of today's country superstars including Garth Brooks, Tracy Lawrence, Confederate Railroad and more. When not working in radio he also worked with several record stores including the Turtles/Blockbuster Music/Wherehouse Music and Cats chains along with some wholesale CD/DVD sales for Music City Record Distributors. Jim's been back in the Tri-State for some time and proud to be the Music Director and Afternoon Drive announcer for Mountain Country! |
